Intergenerational Town Hall:

A Vision for 2100

In collaboration with the Unlock the Future coalition and Orygen, Foundations for Tomorrow hosted an Intergenerational Town Hall, bringing together voices from grassroots advocates to high-level policymakers to craft a vision for the year 2100.

Intergenerational Town Halls

In 2024, Intergenerational Town Halls are being hosted in over 15 different countries, supported by the Unlock the Future coalition. Foundations for Tomorrow is proud to have been the host partner for the Australian Town Hall which took place on May 20th, 2024.

Participants in the full-day dialogue ranged in age from 16 to 87 years old. Across a series of deep-dive sessions, participants responded to the bold ideas captured in the draft Pact for the Future, due to be adopted in September 2024, during the UN Summit of the Future, and envisioned a localised vision for Australia in 2100.

The insights from this dynamic brainstorm will contribute to the Road to 2100, an intergenerational vision inspired by young people for a future where every generation can thrive.

Town Hall Objectives

The Intergenerational Town Halls are dynamic platforms designed to cultivate broad-based support for the United Nations' future, focusing on generating ideas and commitments from the ground up. By engaging leaders, experts, and policymakers from diverse communities across generations, these Town Halls aim to ensure that the vision for the future of global governance and the United Nations resonates with the realities of people worldwide, fostering a bottom-up approach to global commitment and action.
